課程要求
Assessment: Grades in this course will be assessed by your course work and class participation as described below.

(1) Weekly HW Assignments
Every non-presenting student is expected to read one or two supplementary article(s) pertinent to the assigned topic BEFORE class. The day before class (i.e. at least 24 hrs before the class), students will send out a summary (up to one page) of that material and any questions related to the topic via email to both instructors and all classmates to enrich the discussion of the presented article(s) of that week.

(2) Individual Presentation
During class, a student will give a presentation of the assigned article(s) as a warm-up for group discussion and also serve as the discussion leader. Students can sign up for this role at the organization meeting. The discussion leader is expected to provide an encouraging atmosphere and stimulate class members to move beyond the contents of the assigned article(s). Each presenter will meet with the instructor at least one week before his/her presentation.

(3) Protocol Development
All presenters will write a protocol of their presentation and the ensuing discussion in an effort to contribute to a chapter of “Visual Classics”. This will be done during the week following class in collaboration with the instructor.

(4) Class participation

Policies

-- Academic honesty. Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. Any student who engages in any form of academic dishonesty (e.g., cheating on exams, plagiarism, interfering with grading) will receive a grade of F in this course and will be reported to the Office of Student Conduct & Ethical Development for further disciplinary action. There
will be no exceptions.

-- Plagiarism. A hardcopy and a softcopy are required for all written assignments. The softcopy will be checked for plagiarism against a database of articles, books, webpages, and essays submitted by students at NTU and other universities. No credit will be given for an assignment that contains plagiarized materials. Further penalties will also be applied. These penalties include a zero mark for participation in course tutorials and a zero mark for the course. Plagiarism will also be reported to your Faculty for consideration of possible disciplinary action.

-- Late submission. Assignment deadlines are listed and no late submission will be accepted.
